Senate President Ahmad Lawan has revealed details of his meeting with APC chieftain, Asiwaji Bola Tinubu.
In a series of tweets, Ahmad Lawan revealed that he made it clear on the course of the meeting with Tinubu that the senate will work with the executive in creating a synergy so as to offer a good service to the people.
He wrote:
“During my visit yesterday to the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I reiterated the fact that the Senate will take its oversight role seriously and perform its assignments without fear or favour.
We will perform our job not to create hostility or engender rancour in the relationship between the National Assembly and the executive but to create synergy. Synergy will help us deliver our respective services to the people.
That notwithstanding, I want to assure Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari and the government would be supported from the National Assembly”.
Ahmad Lawan was elected senate president last month after he defeated his closest rival, Senator Ali Ndume. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege emerged his deputy.
