The governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, has announced his defection from All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Samuel Ortom made the announcement at a meeting with elected local government chairmen and Councillors on Wednesday at the Government House Makurdi.
The meeting held hours after some youths in the state barred him from traveling to Abuja to attend the APC reconciliation meeting.
The move is on the hills of the governor sacking over 80 percent of his cabinet members. Also, it follows the impeachment of the Benue House of Assembly speaker, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange.
