Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu said he wouldn’t negotiate with bandits if he was president, says he would fish them out instead.
Kalu said this after a concluded closed-door meeting with former Military President General Ibrahim Babangida at his Up Hill Residence in Minna, Niger State.
He said, “I can not. I will never, never negotiate with terrorists; they are terrorists. I will smoke them out.”
When questioned on the way out of the current security challenges berating the nation, Kanu said the way to end insecurity challenges in the country is to replace the Service Chiefs.
“The way out of the current problem we are facing is what the Federal Government is doing by replacing Service Chiefs. I am not going to say more. But, the Bandits will be surprised at what will happen to them in three months.”
“Government is planning and strategizing very well. It is building momentum, building the Force to intervene and save the Nigerian people,” Kanu stated.
When asked the purpose of his visit to the state, the former Abia state governor said he was there to commiserate with the Governor, two former heads of state, and people of Niger State on the kidnaps and other security challenges the state is currently battling.
“Niger State is like home to us. My two Oga’s (former heads of state Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar) are here. It’s enough for me to come. We heard what happened, and we came to tell them, we are praying along with them for peace to return to the state,” he added.
