Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has collapsed after he was fired tear gas by security operatives while on a victory walk with his supporters. The governor had earlier tweeted about the presence of mobile policemen whom he said blocked the entrance of the Ekiti government house with intent to prevent his supporters from staging the walk.
”This is the entrance to Ekiti Govt House now blocked by gun wielding mobile policemen. The plan is to prevent our victory walk slated for today but we will remain undeterred. Power of God and the people will prevail over Federal Power,” Fayose said.
In another tweet, he stated that there was heavy shooting going on at the government house.
”Heavy shooting now going on in front of Ekiti Govt house by armed policemen brought by the APC.”

Few days ago at a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally in Ado Ekiti, Fayose spoke of how he is being intimidated by the police ahead of the July-14 election in the state.
According to him, “I am not going to receive the president. If they think that they can use the police to intimidate us, it is a lie.
“This government is undemocratic, why did they close Akure Airport yesterday, when they knew that we would be receiving our party members.
“They have been arresting members of the PDP, but we will not be provoked. We will disgrace all of them on June 14.”
