Kayode Fayemi declares for president

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has declared his interest to run for president in the 2023 general elections.

Fayemi made his declaration in Abuja on Wednesday.

Speaking, the governor who is also the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum promised to ensure youth employment if elected president come 2023.

Fayemi had yesterday visited the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for further consultations regarding the APC Presidential Primary election.

He wrote on Facebook “I also seized the opportunity to visit the former two-term governor of Benue State, a three-term senator, and Nigeria’s current Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume.

“These meetings provided an avenue to listen to and exchange ideas on the best approaches to advance the frontiers of the national agenda and re-engineer our governance system and its response capacity to issues of national co-existence.”
