Akeredolu sworn in for second term as governor of Ondo state

Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has just been sworn in for a second term as governor of the state.

Akeredolu’s swearing-in ceremony took place at the International Culture and Event Centre, Akure, the state’s capital.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, his running mate, took the official oath for the first time as Deputy Governor of the state for the first time.

It could be recalled that the governor was declared the winner of the gubernatorial elections by the Independent Electoral Commission, EFCC, on October 10, 2020.

Akeredolu is a candidate of the ruling All Progressive Party, APC. He clinched a winning spree of 15 out of the 18 local governments of the state. At the same time, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Eyitayo Jegede took the remaining three local governments, according to INEC’s result.
