After loosing out at the March 28 polls, President Goodluck Jonathan is set to bow out in about six weeks from today but not without leaving his footprints in the sands of time.
Here is a list of eight things we will miss about President Jonathan.
1. His signature outfit and Fedora hat to match: President Jonathan is widely known and accepted for his signature native attire which he rocks at formal and informal events. What we would be seeing now on the president-elect is more of Babariga.
2. His insensitive and somehow truthful statements: When the Chibok girls were abducted under the watch of President Jonathan, he publicly acknowledged ignorance of the situation even three weeks into the abduction. He was shockingly and ignorantly candid. In fact he even claims the media knows more than him.
Many times, he honestly confesses that he doesn’t know what he is doing as he is always confused with the different conflicting advises from his advisers and aides.
3. His Lies or better still sarcasm: Let’s give you three examples of his sarcastical statements, President Jonathan had promised all Nigerians in 2011 that he would not be staying in power beyond 2015, he assured that he will not contest BUT he still contested in March.
Also, during an interview with Cable Network News, CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, President Goodluck blatantly lied against Nigerians saying that we are pleased with power supply in the county. He even challenged Amanpour to verify from the ordinary man on the streets of Lagos, Abuja and other cities. (Nigerians are we satisfied?)
And finally, that his big lie that he had no shoes while growing up.
He stated: “I was not born rich, and in my youth, I never imagined that I would be where I am today, but not once did I ever give up. In my early days in school, I had no shoes, no school bags. I carried my books in my hands but never despaired; no car to take me to school but I never despaired.”
But apparently, he did have shoes at some point, going by a photo of his, from when he was young.
In the picture, Jonathan was pretty suave, had good shoes, and even a horse.
4. His ability to control his E-motions: Whether it is the fear of “Mama Peace”, or in strict adherence to the bible passage “…If sinners entice thee, consent though not”, Goodluck Jonathan sure knows how to keep the female fans at bay.
We can be sure that Jonathan’s self control is not only in words as he conceded to Buhari as obvious in the below photos
5. President Jonathan’s wave is just mind blowing and we will miss it!
6. This killer jaw swag of President Jonathan does everything to us.
7. His PDA for his wifey:
8. And finally, President Jonathan’s punch line of all time “Stealing is not corruption, Ole is not corruption… Lets call an Ole an Ole”
Phew! Need we say more? You can add yours to the list.
