She recently made history as the first African-American actress
to play Cinderella on Broadway.
Prior to her big opening night, the 21-year-old shared on Instagram:
thank you to all my loved ones for my flowers, texts and
emails of support! My dressing room is beautiful because of YOU! I had
such an overwhelmingly thrilling debut night. Broadway .. Wow. God is so
good, I am so grateful to the The Lord for using me in such a way that I
can freely express his love through my passion. Tonight, my career, my
LIFE, is a testament to the power of love;
of God’s light! When you embrace him and who you are, when you spread
love and kindness, when you stay consistent in your sincerity .. There’s
NOTHING you can not do. Nothing is easy, it will be difficult. But
understand you are not alone, we are all together. thankful to all of those that made it to the show tonight and I love all of those that were praying for me where they were.
She also shared a photo collage from opening night with the caption, “Dreams do come true.”
Yes, they do! And she is a true testament and awesome role model for young girls.
These photos remind me of Will Smith’s quote from the “Pursuit of Happyness”:
Don’t ever let somebody tell you… You can’t do something.
Not even me. All right? You got a dream… You gotta protect it. People
can’t do somethin’ themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If
you want somethin’, go get it. Period.
Before Keke hit the stage, Pret-a-Reporter was able to meet up with
her and get a sneak-peek at four of her five looks for the play. Take a
