Protesting Law student of UNICAL

Many female University of Calabar law students have protested against Prof Cyril Ndifon, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, over alleged sexual harassment.

According to a trending video, the protesting student accused the lecturer of frequently harassing them to suck his manhood.

Kemi Kilani News gathered that the students had moved about in groups on the varsity campus late Monday afternoon, chanting and calling for the dismissal of Ndifon.

They displayed placards with assorted inscriptions, including “Ndifon Must Go!” “We’re tired of suck dicks for marks”, “Law Girls Are Not Bonanza”, Prof Ndifon Must Stop Grabbong our Bum Bums”, etc.

Alongside the male law students, they also alleged high handedness by Ndifon.

President of the Law Students Association of Nigeria LAWSAN Unical branch, Comrade Benedict Otu, led the students to protest against Ndifon.

Other issues the protesters accused the Ndifon of include the sale of the Law Journal and lecturers not showing up in class to lecture students.

But reacting over the telephone, Prof Ndifon sharply debunked the allegations of high-handedness and sexual harassment.

He claimed that the so-called protest by the law students was masterminded by some persons in the faculty who had sworn to pull him down.

Ndifon claimed that the allegations from the students were barefaced lies aimed at tarnishing his image.

“Since I defeated some persons in an election that was keenly contested, to emerge as Dean of the faculty, it hasn’t been easy. I had skipped several booby traps.

“These allegations are baseless, masterminded by my detractors who had vowed to ensure that my image is dragged through the mud just because I won the faculty elections twice.”

Meanwhile the lecturer was also accused of sexual harrassment in 2016.

Vice Chancellor, Prof Florence Obi, has assured the students of the University’s desire to get the problem addressed.
