Hassan Isiyaku, a 25-year-old unemployed man, was docked in a Kado Grade I Area Court in Abuja on Monday for allegedly stealing a cell phone and N10,000 from a bus stop.
Isiyaku, of no fixed address, has been charged with conspiracy and theft.
Charity Samuel, the Prosecution Counsel, told the court that the complainant, Adamu Abdullahi of Bakin Saleh, Minna, Niger, reported the matter to Utako Police Station on December 31,2022.
Samuel also claimed that the defendant and his accomplices, who are still at large, surrounded the complainant at a bus stop in Utako, Abuja.
The prosecutor went on to say that they formed a criminal intent and snatched his phone and N10,000 before fleeing.

According to her, the offence contravened the provisions of sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge, Muhammed Wakili granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20,000 and a surety in like sum.
He directed that the surety must provide a passport photograph, any valid means of identification and a BVN printout from his bank.
