Twin explosions occurred in Sabon Geri, a predominantly
Christian quarters of Kano metropolis this afternoon – the explosives which
were concealed in a bag that was abandoned in a fridge, went off at about 3pm.

The police spokesperson for Kano State, Magaji Majiya, said the
explosion was caused by a bomb that targeted travelers at the Sabon Gari
park. The bomber hid it inside a fridge and placed the fridge on a
cart, and detonated it close to a luxurious bus at about 3:00 pm (1500
GMT) at the New Motor Park.

One bus affected by the blast is with registration number KTT 164 XA and
owned by Ifeanyi Chukwu Industrial Services. The bus was loading
passengers heading to Port Harcourt at the time of
the blast.
You recall that in March at least 60 were
reported killed, and several vehicles destroyed by a bombing at the same
motor park.
Police Anti- bomb disposal squad has cordoned off the area, rescue
operations have also been deployed to the scene for rescue missions.
