PSG coach Thomas Tuchel has praised the leadership qualities of Brazil poster boy, Neymar.
The former Barcelona star came under fire for his theatrics at the 2018 FIFA world cup in Russia.
Tuchel who replaced Unai Emery at the end of the season stressed the importance of Neymar to the team.
“It’s completely clear that Neymar is my key player, as he is one of the best in the world and he is an artist,” Tuchel
said at his pre-match press conference.
“There are several different ways to be a leader.
“In Neymar ‘s case, he is one when he is happy, though his creativity, his way of inspiring others and the risks that he takes.”
That said, Tuchel is keen for other players to take responsibility too.
“There isn’t just one leader, as we have lots of shoulders to carry the team on,” he said.
“Neymar is one of the leaders.”
PSG begin their season with with a clash against Caen on Sunday night.
