Tribunal gives judgement in favour Gov Aliyu in Sokoto

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos, Sokoto State, has ruled in favour of Governor Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress.
The tribunal ruled that the petitioners, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate failed to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The PDP and its candidate, Saidu Umar, had approached the tribunal challenging the victory of APC and its candidate, Ahmad Aliyu, in the March 18 governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Aliyu of the March 18 Governorship poll.
