Tribunal affirms Gov Oborevwori’s victory in Delta

Sheriff Oborevwori

Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal affirmed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the March 18 gubernatorial election.

The development comes as the Tribunal threw out the petition filed by former Deputy President, Senate Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Congress, APC, challenging.

The Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu-led gave the judgement on Friday.

The petition was dismissed because it contained unsubstantiated allegations.

The court also noted that it was devoid of merit and was speculative.

Omo-Agege came second in the March 18 election.

Kemi Filani News recalls that Omo-Agege challenged the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to declare Oborevwori the election winner of the March 18 polls.

Meanwhile, the judges are yet to decide on the cases between the Labour Party (LP) and the PDP, as well as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the PDP.
