Mr Silas Agara, National Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (TSGICC), believes Sen. Bola Tinubu’s election will restore Nigerians’ faith in the country.
In a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Akure, Agara claimed that Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, was familiar with the suffering that Nigerians were experiencing.
“Our candidate is not alien to this kind of situation. Lagos was worse but look at Lagos today, he is coming to renew hope for Nigerians hence we must support APC to win the 2023 election.
“I am happy that I have the right people around and together. We are close to making history, come Feb. 25, Asiwaju will be elected the next President of Nigeria to transform this country the same way he transformed Lagos State,” he stated.
Agada, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, said that the council would campaign in the 8,812 political wards in the country for the victory of the party’s presidential candidate.
According to him, the group is confident of victory because it has shown to Nigerians that APC’s agenda are better for Nigeria long term.
“Our principal is crisscrossing the entire country canvasing for votes and the response from Nigerian people has been amazing.
“We are employing the best of technology in terms of vote canvassing and reaching out to the electorate, our policy proposition is reliable, tested and is working.
“We are happy to report that with the introduction of our ICC Chat App, we have been able to address the issue of communication and coordination of activities from states to the polling unit level.
“Connecting with rural areas or sharing campaign materials are made easy. From time to time, zoom meetings are held with the wards to obtain the actual information about campaign activities,” he stated.
He explained that TSGICC was to complement roles of presidential campaign council (PCC) by reaching down to the grassroots, canvass for their votes and managing of various support groups.
Agara expressed confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct free, fair and credible elections.
“I know that elections will hold and on INEC, I think that they are doing their best and we are expecting a free and fair election conduct,” he said. (NAN)
