Tinubu to attend G-20 summit in India

President Bola Tinubu is scheduked to fly to India for the G-20 summit, which will hold between September 9 and 10.

This was confirmed by his special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday.

Ngelale said Tinubu seeks to attract foreign investments to the country during the summit.

He said Tinubu will meet with world leaders and heads of state in addition to industry titans, and chief executive officers of some of the most valuable corporations in the world, especially those with Indian roots.

Ngelale said his principal would host a roundtable meeting during the summit with more than 20 chief executive officers from various economic sectors.

This, he said, is to ensure that Nigeria takes advantage of their interest in investing in the nation in a way that supports the industrialisation, digitalisation, and renewable energy agenda.

“We are going to make sure, under the direction of the president, that we make the most of the opportunity to add value to the nation, to create jobs for our citizens, and ultimately, to increase and generate resources for the nation to guarantee that the government can properly finance and support its forward-thinking programmes across sectors,” Ngelale said.

“There is a lot to cover, and when we get into Nigeria the following week, there will be live updates from India, which I will provide everyday to give Nigerians full access to what their president is doing on their behalf.”
