Sam Egube, the Commissioner of Budget and Planning in Lagos government, was roundly booed and jeered by attendees of The Experience Concert in Lagos on Friday night.
Egube was delivering a speech on behalf of his principal, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Rock Cathedral.
His words were drowned out by the restless crowd, who increased the volume of their jeering when he quoted from the Bible or mentioned Sanwo-Olu’s name.
This led to Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, apologizing to the Lagos State government.
Adefarasin displeased with the crowd’s behavior, apologized to the Lagos State government, describing the attitude as unscriptural.
He cautioned youths to pray for leaders in order for peace to reign in the country.
“I must honestly caution that we must pray for those who lead us that we may dwell peacefully in the land
“You must never disrespect authority because they beat the sword.
“I apologise to the leaders of Lagos state on your behalf,” Pastor Adefarasin said.
