Tension as unknown Gunmen behead Labour Party Chieftain in Abia

A Chieftain of the Labour Party in Abia State, Mr Maduka Zachary, has been murdered by gunmen yet to be identified.
Kemi Filani News gathered that the labour party chieftain who served as Campaign Director General of LP in the Isiukwuato Umunneochi Federal Constituency during the last election was murdered at his residence in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the State.
According to reports, the gunmen invaded the deceased’s residence, killed him, and chopped off his head on Wednesday.
Efforts by Kemi Filani News to get a reaction from the Abia State Police Command proved abortive as the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, could not take her calls and could not respond to text messages forwarded to her by our correspondent.
However, the President General of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, Goodluck Ibem, confirmed the unfortunate development.
Ibem, who could not give details of the incident, simply said, “The report is true”.
Also, the Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Mr CeeKay Igara, also confirmed the development.
Mr Igara said that the party chieftain was murdered on Wednesday. He said, “We don’t know who killed him, but we leave that to the security agencies to find out”.
When filing the report, the Police had yet to confirm the incident.
