Last week, we reported the lavish wedding of Nigeria’s richest woman, Folorunsho Alakija’s son, Folarin, who just got married to the love of his life, Nazanin in the UK.
It was a wedding to remember and is said to have cost up to $6.3m (N131m) and some Nigerians are far from happy for the couple.
Comments on Facebook spoke of how the money could have been invested in Nigeria and used to reduce poverty.
One
man named Kunz Tamuno said on Facebook: “I don’t approve of him
spending so lavishly when his compatriots are dying of starvation.” “I
know he doesn’t owe anything to anybody.
He is not obliged to give to the poor but doing so is the only sensible thing to do.”
