Finally, the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, has temporarily suspended its protests demanding for the freedom of its leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.
The announcement was made today, Wednesday, July 31, by the IMN.
This is coming few days after it was proscribed by the federal government of Nigeria, as a terrorist group.
According to a statement released by the group, the suspension is to allow for some new openings into the resolution of the problems, especially the court case instituted by it lawyers on the proscription order.
Recall that, few days ago, while protesting, the Shiites had a clash with the police and lives were lost, including a police officer and Corps member serving with Channels Television, Precious Owolabi.
