A seven storey building under construction collapsed this evening in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. The collapse reportedly left some occupants dead and others trapped.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers State Command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident told Vanguard that, “The worry now is not about ascertaining the level casualties. Rescue operations is ongoing.”
Unconfirmed sources said at least 11 persons have been rescued from debris at the scene of the incident just as the number of the dead remains unascertained.
Someone testified and wrote … ‘I was in PH just last month. Along Woji Road GRA, I saw this high-rise under construction. I took particular interest because a friend is a sub contractor there. Fast forward 3weeks later, the building has now collapsed.’
