A school in Ibadan has reacted to a confessional statement made by a suspected kidnapper identified as Ismaila Raji.
The suspect who is a car wash attendant by profession was nabbed with human skeleton at Adesola area, along Lagos/Ibadan expressway, Ibadan last weekend.
According to the suspect’s confession, seven of his victims were students of the Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan. He also revealed that there are still some of his colleagues currently hunting for more preys at the school premises.
Reacting to the confessional statement, the school labeled it as a mere sham and deceit because none of its students has been reportedly killed nor missing.
The announcement was made by the school principal, Mr Tope Onipede via a press release on Thursday.
It reads:
“My attention has been drawn to a recent publication posted to The Lagelu Grammar School Government Board Platform concerning the case of a car wash attendant nabbed with complete human skeleton. The suspect in his confession reportedly revealed that he had killed seven other people So far and that most of the victims were students of Lagelu Grammar School.
“I wish to state unequivocally that there is no iota of truth in the story as no case of missing student(s) or kidnap was reported to the school authority or to any member of staff by the parents/guardian before we went on vacation on Friday, 5th April, 2019. Meanwhile, it is indeed regrettable that the faceless media outfit in the name of Double A media did not investigate the case properly before releasing such unverified confession to the public.
“Let me place on record that LAGSOBA EXCO under the dynamic leadership of Professor Olufemi Omisore had helped the school greatly by clearing the thick bush around the hostels. Hence, there is no hiding place for hoodlums to perpetrate such a criminal act at the school.
“I hereby use this medium to inform the Old boys of Lagelu Grammar school and the general public that the story is far from the truth.
