Brazil striker and former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has become the majority shareholder of LaLiga club side Real Valladolid.
The former Inter Milan striker has acquired a 51 percent stake for a reported €30million and will serve as chairman of the board of directors.
Ronaldo expressed his desire to help improve Valladolid in a press conference after his unveiling as the major shareholder
“Valladolid have more than 20,000 season ticket holders and we have a large group of professionals at all levels,” Ronaldo began.
“We want to grow as much as we’re able and try to be as big a club as possible.
“You can count on us to help the club consolidate in the Primera Division and to keep building.
“I’m convinced that it will be very difficult to win against us.”
Immediately trying to get the locals on side, the Brazilian invited them to participate in a new venture.
“I want all of us to form this Club and I invite the fans to participate in this project,” he continued.
“Give us your ideas, opinions, criticism and hopes.
“I want you to be part of the present and the future of the Real Valladolid.”
