Oh dear! Kemi Filani Blog can authoritatively tell you that all the banks in Ago Iwoe, Ogun state have shut down, leaving Residents with the option of going all the way to Sagamu, Ijebu, Abeokuta or Ibadan to make transactions.
Sadly, the Banks might remain closed till the end of the year…as the Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) stationed
at strategic locations in Ago-Iwoye town to
ward off criminal-minded fellows are now faulty…sources tell us that just one of them is effective.
The shutdown is as a result of a scary letter that was sent to the different Banks by some armed robbers.
We don’t have details of what the letters sent to the different entail but sources tell us that the Robbers in the letter said they would be coming anytime soon to get their Christmas salary.
“….We have not disturbed you peple since two years ago, the last time we struck…so we would be coming this December for our christmas salary, prepare for us.” the robbers allegedly wrote in the last paragraph of the letters sent to the Banks on Monday.
When the robbers invaded the five major banks in Ago Iwoye a few years ago, it was a deadly encounter.
