Rape case against Neymar closed by Brazilian authorities

Authorities in Brazil investigating the rape allegation against PSG player Neymar have closed the case.

This was made known by the Sao Paulo attorney general’s office on Tuesday stating that prosecutors would be given 15 days to evaluate the case.

Neymar was accused of rape by a model Najila Trindade Mendes de Souza. However, chats between them suggested that whatever happened between them was consensual. Also a video surfaced showing Najola going violent on Neymar in a hotel room.

His management spoke:

“We completely repudiate the unjust accusations and, above all, the exposure in the press of an extremely negative situation.”

Neymar’s father spoke:

“it is clear that it was a trap. If public opinion is not cleared up, and if we can’t show the truth rapidly, this will snowball. If we have to show Neymar’s WhatsApps and the conversations with this girl, we will”.
