Tuesday saw the start of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s widely anticipated State of the Nation address, which was delivered just before the first anniversary of the military invasion of Ukraine.
On Tuesday, Russian state television transmitted the Kremlin’s address at the Gostiny Dvor event centre in Moscow.
He was addressing to members of Russia’s Federal Assembly, which consists of the State Duma and the Federation Council.
According to the Kremlin, Putin planned to address the war he had ordered and the current situation in Russia. He also wanted to comment on the economy and social policy.
Because of the sanctions imposed by the West, the Russian economy is under massive pressure. (dpa/NAN)
