The Katsina Police Command said its operatives killed one suspected terrorist and recovered one AK-47 rifle and 110 rounds of 7.62MM live ammunition.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this on Tuesday.
Also recovered were 60 sheep rustled by the hoodlums.
According to Police, the hoodlums in large numbers invaded Korogo village via Daddara, Jibia LGA of Katsina State, shooting sporadically and eventually rustling some animals.
Upon receipt of the report, the DPO Jibia mobilized a team of Police operatives to the scene and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, forcing them to abandon their heinous mission, disappearing into the bush.
“The neutralized body of one of the suspected terrorists, sixty (60) rustled sheep, as well as one AK 47 rifle with one hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were recovered. The investigation is ongoing.”
