Iba Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland disclosed that three members of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, who were among the team that apprehended notorious kidnappers, Iskilu Wakili, had been prosecuted in court by the police.
Adams made this known while speaking at a meeting of Yoruba leaders in Ibadan on Wednesday, stating that Wakili, who has been accused of killing about 25 persons, was charged with crimes that were bailable.
Expressing shock over the incident, Adams said the three OPC members who risked their lives to apprehend Wakili was charged with murder and arson, which he described as more heinous.
Mr. Rotimi Olumo, the Oyo State Coordinator, also told newsmen that the three OPC members had been charged.
He said, “They were arraigned, and they have been clamped in prison.”
