MC Oluomo: Police arrest 14 persons in connection with the violence at Lagos APC rally

14 persons have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the violence that broke out in APC campaign flag-off on Tuesday.

The violence saw several persons getting stabbed, one of whom is the boss of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, MC Oluomo.

The Stats Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi said a review of the video showing the incidence made it clear that the violence was started by members of NURTW.

Imohimi further disclosed that some the suspects were arrested around the Millennium Housing Estate and have been giving the police useful information.

“Around the Millennium Housing Estate, and the area around the bridge, we arrested 14 suspects. Some of them have given us useful information.

“The preliminary investigation we carried out reveals that it is just their internal union crisis. I heard that their state chairman would leave soon and there are some players who wanted to succeed him.
