Photos: Social distancing shunned as Tijaniyyah appoints Sanusi as Caliph

COVID-19 rules of social distancing were disobeyed when the Tijaniyah, a Sufi order, as former Emir of Kano state, Muhammadu Sanusi Lamido II is appointed by the Tijaniyah, a Sufi order as the new Caliph in Nigeria.

This was revealed in photos shared by the ex-emir’s spokesperson. Saadatu Ahmad, wearing a rostrum, was captured, addressing the mammoth crowd with hundreds of people gathered at the ceremony under the sun in a clustered manner without social distancing.

Ahmad further states that the former Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor’s appointment was confirmed on Friday night in Sokoto during the Maulud Celebration of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass.

She wrote, “Alhamdulillah, we thank you, Allah, today. Halifanci has confirmed, His Royal Highness Sanusi II the character of Tijjaniya. God bless you, Allah.”

Newsmen gathered that the position was formerly held by the late Emir of Kano (Sanusi’s late grandfather) and lately held by the late philanthropist Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu.
