PDP wins Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency seat in Plateau

Musa Agah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared the winner of the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency seat in Plateau by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday.

Agah defeated Muhammad Alkali, a candidate for the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), who came in second with 67, 331 votes, according to the returning officer, Prof. Josiah Wutiyil.

NAN recalls that Agah had, on Sept. 2, 2022, been sacked by the Court of Appeal sitting in Jos as member of House of Representatives, representing his federal constituency.

The court had ordered INEC to return Gwani Alkali of PRP as the valid winner of the Feb. 26, 2022 bye-election and be sworn in with immediate effect. (NAN)
