The Odi-Olowo and Oke-Aga communities in Ilesa East Local Government received two 300KVA electricity transformers on Tuesday from Mr. Timothy Owoeye, Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly.
Owoeye said the donation was made in furtherance of his contribution to the development of society and his constituency in a statement released by his media assistant, Kunle Alabi.
He claimed that since 2007, communities receiving electricity transformers had experienced epileptic power supply as a result of defective electricity transformers.
He stressed that he would not give up on seeing that his people reaped the benefits of democracy and claimed that the donated transformers have no political overtone because the communities that will benefit from them are made up of members of various political parties.
He, however, asked residents of the communities to go out enmasse on Saturday and vote for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for such dividends of democracy to go round the communities.
He said other communities that he planned to provide with new transformers were; Oke Aanu, Bolorunduro, Ilerin, Ilo Olomo, Fasoro Eid and Ido Ijesa.
A leader in one of the beneficiary communities, Mr Ademokoya Lawrence, appreciated the effort of the Speaker for his kind assistance on the electric poles, wire and the transformers.
He said “God Almighty will give long life and prosperity. This gesture will not be forgotten in the history of Oke-Aga.” (NAN)
