Prior to this time, reports making waves on the internet states that the chopper that was to convey Vice-President Yemi Osibanjo from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada in Abuja today was forced to land, few seconds after take off.
Osinbajo was in the college for the graduation ceremony of Senior Division Course 1/2018 participants.
The VP’s camp has shed more light to the reports which had earlier stated that while taking off, the chopper could not ascend beyond the tree level, before it emitted thick smoke and landed on the same spots few seconds after take off
Reacting to the news, Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande tweeted,
‘VP Osinbajo attended the graduation ceremony of Nigeria Customs Senior Course in Gwagwalada today. On his way back it was decided, for technical reasons, not to fly the chopper that had brought him to the venue. He drove back to the Presidential Villa & continued his schedule’.
The reports have driven lovers and friends of the VP to be thankful indeed for his life
