One dead as Okada and Trailer crashed in Ilorin

One Okada rider was killed in a crash involving an Okada commercial rider and a trailer in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, on Saturday.
The incident occurred along the Maraba/Zango-Kulende highway of the Ilorin metropolis at about 2-3 p.m.
Kemi Filani News reports that the Sector Commander, Ogidan Ade, confirmed the incident in a chat with our correspondent in Ilorin on Saturday.
According to the Sector Commander, the accident occurred when the trailer driver tried to avoid the Okada rider who entered his lane at high speed.
However, only the Okada rider lost his life in the incident, while the two other passengers escaped death.
They were, after that, taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention, the Sector commander added.
Earlier reports claimed the three persons on the Okada motorcycle were crushed to death in the accident.
The sector commander, however, dismissed the claim, saying only the Okada rider died in the accident, while two others were taken to the UNILORIN teaching hospital for medical treatment.
He blamed the deceased Okada rider for his reckless attitude, which led to the avoidable accident.
