Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to news that the dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, would be contesting for president come 2023.
Sanusi was dethroned yesterday and sent on exile in Nasarawa State where he’s reportedly kept under house arrest and won’t be receiving visitors for the rest of his life.
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who became the Emir of Bichi in 2019, has since been announced as the new Emir of Kano.
Since the news broke out, many have been speculating that Sanusi, a former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, might contest for president.
Reacting to the speculation, Reno Omokri wrote: “Is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi considering running for President. Maina sued me to court. I prayed to my God. 2 weeks later, he was arrested. Sanusi paid journalists to attack me. I prayed and he was dethroned. We await his Presidential run. My God is not dead!”
