Honorable member of the Federal House of Representatives, Shina Peller has advised the Lagos State Government on what to do cocnerning its Okada Ban.
The Okada ban is a term used to describe a ban placed on Motorcycles and Tricycles in Lagos State which took effect on February 1.
The ban has seen many Lagosians face discomfort due to long distances they are subjected to trek.
Reacting to the ban, Shina Peller tweeted:
“The feedback from different angles regarding the ban on the operations of commercial motorcycles on some major roads in Lagos State indicates that most Lagosians, especially those without private vehicles find it difficult going to their places of work.
“A lot of people are left with the option of a long distance walk. Though the Lagos State Govt gave a justifiable reason for the ban action which is to address the numerous cases of fatal accidents and traffic robbery aided by the motorcyclists, palliative measure should be put in place urgently to reduce the immediate painful effect of the ban on the masses.
