Former president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, has confirmed he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Obama disclosed this on Sunday via an update on Twitter.
He noted that he is feeling fine and added that Michelle, his wife, tested negative for the virus.
“I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise. Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative,” he wrote.
“It’s a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven’t already, even as cases go down.”
Obama joins the list of notable personalities who have recently tested positive for the virus.
In February, Justin Bieber, the Canadian singer-songwriter, tested positive for COVID amid his Justice World Tour.
A day before, Queen Elizabeth II of England had also tested positive for COVID.
The Buckingham Palace had said the Queen was experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms”, but will continue “light duties at Windsor”.
Also, Lionel Messi, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player from Argentina, tested positive for COVID in January.
