NURTW: MC Oluomo not appointed to head new transport union -Sanwo-Olu’s aide

MC Oluomo

The Lagos State government has denied reports that it has appointed Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as GM, Lagos Transport Parks and garages committee.

MC Oluomo was yesterday announced suspended as the chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

He had been accused of insubordination and attempting to incite violence against the national body of NURTW.

In his reaction, MC Oluomo advised the Lagos State government to take over all motor parks in the state from the control of NURTW.

His suggestion followed an announcement by the Lagos State government that all activities of NURTW in the state had been suspended.

Shortly after the news broke out, reports had it that MC Oluomo has been appointed by the state to head a new union that will take over the motor parks.

This has been denied by the state through the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, who tweeted:

“ALERT: Please disregard post(s) claiming that Gov @jidesanwoolu has appointed suspended Chairman of NURTW, MC Oluomo as GM, Lagos Transport Parks and garages committee. There’s no such appointment. The statement issued yesterday by @gbenga_omo, HC info, remains position of Govt.”
