The ongoing strike by Judicial Workers, an affiliate of Nigeria Labour Congress, has stalled the arraignment of former Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor, Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday.
The development comes as the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) at the Federal Capital Territory High Court branch had announced compliance with the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress directives on Nationwide indefinite strike.
Consequently, the purpose for Emefiele’s arraignment by the Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was defeated.
Kemi Filani News gathered on Wednesday that activities were scanty at the Federal Capital Territory High Court premises.
Recall that Justice Olukayode Adeniyi had granted Emefiele bail barely a week ago.
He ordered that he be released immediately to his lawyers, responsible for producing him in Court for his arraignment on Wednesday(Today) or any other day.
The Department of State Security arrested Emiefelle on June 7 before the ex-apex bank chief was released last month to the EFCC for continued interrogation.
