The Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO, NIPOST, Ms. Tola Odeyemi has reiterated the organization’s commitment to collaborating with SERVICOM to ensure implementation of all policies of the Federal Government. She assured that the mandate given would be geared towards impacting the Nigerian citizens through efficient service delivery.
Odeyemi disclosed this on Thursday when the National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnena Akajemeli paid an advocacy visit on her at NIPOST Corporate Headquarters.
The National Coordinator, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli congratulated the Postmaster General on her well-deserved appointment and believed that with her rich background, NIPOST will work towards improving service delivery processes to deliver seamless and efficiency services across its service windows.
According to Mrs. Akajemeji, the quality of governance is determined by the quality service delivered to citizens and the extent to which these services meet their expectations. Therefore, SERVICOM’s mandate focuses on improving the quality of services provided.
She said further that SERVICOM’s core mandates are to coordinate efforts to develop and implement service charters, carrying out independent surveys on customer satisfaction, raise citizens demands for satisfactory services and build skills of employees to deliver excellent services by promoting best practice in service delivery, among others.
She added that NIPOST should sustain the culture of qualitative service delivery, and that management and staff should adopt and ensure that the objectives of SERVICOM unit are achieved.
The National Coordinator further advised the SERVICOM unit of NIPOST should be strengthened by providing the necessary resources needed for the development and implementation of the services and standards in the service charter.
While speaking on the importance of the service charter, Akajemeli noted that, the service charter is a strategic instrument that communicate promises and commitments of service provided by an organization to its customers and it contains realistic and measurable standards in key services.
She urged management to continuously engage with stakeholders and review their service charter to further strengthen its mandate.
Receiving the visitors in her office, the Postmaster General appreciated the National Coordinator and her team, stressing that the visit was timely as she settled to serve the nation in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Ms. Odeyemi reaffirmed NIPOST’s commitment to the SERVICOM mandate. She stressed further that NIPOST has been implementing and adopting these policies through the SERVICOM unit of the organization. She added that each of NIPOST state offices has a Desk Officer that adequately monitor efficient service delivery to citizens who in turn send feedbacks to measure efficient service received.
