A Nigerian man has been arrested after he destroyed five embassy cars in London.
The man, 32-year old Jeffery Apkovweta Ewohime, created problems at the embassy where his passport was confisticated. He was also turned back for arriving late.
Angered by the treatment he received, the man lashed out by using stones and rocks to damage the vehicles parked at the embassy’s premises.
News of the incident was confirmed by the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Muhammed Babandede
He said Ewohime arrived late to the Nigerian mission in London for passport “and was told by the Security that the Mission has closed for the day. He went about destroying Nigeria’s diplomatic vehicles worth hundreds of thousands of taxpayers money. The passport in question has been issued since 6th of June 2019. He did not leave any self-addressed envelope for delivery.”
His statement was corroborate by the Senior social assistant to the president on foreign affairs, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, who issued a statement in her behalf labeled Ewohime’s action as “unpatriotic, and an unconscionable act of indiscipline.”
Giving an account of what happened, Abike revealed that Ewohime went to the embassy to collect his passport but was told he came late and so would not be able to get it.
After he insisted on collecting his passport, the officials told him to bring his collection slip which he couldn’t produce. According to the embassy, the passport can’t be issued without the slip.
Angered after being turned down, he went on a rage and destroyed seven cars, five belonging to the embassy and two to visitors.
