Nigeria’s bobsled team landed to a rousing welcome in Lagos.
Below are pictures showing Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga, the three ladies who put Nigeria on the map by being our first representatives at the Winter Olympic Games in 2018. The ladies took part in the Bobsled competition at the event which took place in Pyeonchang, South Korea.
Seun Adigun, who refered to the project as her ‘gift to Nigeria’, said in an interview prior to the participation:
”The success of this bobsled team will positively affect
millions of people all over the world and will represent monumental
international advancements in social, athletic, and economic
statuses. Together, we can demonstrate that nothing is impossible with a
little faith, support and willingness to persevere”.
The three athletes were able to achieve the feat after getting funds through a GoFundMe campaign that requested for $150,000 (around ?70 million) to enable them participate in the competition. The Bobsled Team to the Winter Olympics were welcomed rousingly at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja Lagos.
Some of the dignatries that came to receive them were Tee-Y Mix, Jeff Akoh and TMC talents including Bisola Aiyeola.
