Mr Garba Yakubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate in Niger, has donated motorised boreholes to three communities in the state’s Shiroro Local Government Area.
Shakwatu, Egwa, and Galadima-Kogo are among the Shiroro Local Government Area communities that will benefit.
Yakubu explained that the gesture was intended to address the issue of water supply as well as to alleviate people’s difficulties in accessing potable water in those communities.
“I believe that the welfare of our people is sacrosanct and that is what we stand for, we stand for good governance to serve our people,” he said.
The donation of the boreholes was in less than a month he donated brand new transformers to three communities.
The deputy governorship candidate had also repaired and refurbished more than 200 boreholes across communities in Shiroro and Bosso local government areas of the state. (NAN)
