The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared Abba Kyari, the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, wanted over alleged links with an international drug cartel.
Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s spokesperson, revealed this on Monday during a short press conference held at its Headquarters.
Babafemi disclosed that NDLEA has evidence linking Kyari to a drug cartel that operates the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug pipeline.
He said the former DCP needs to answer questions that came up in an ongoing drug case in which he is the principal actor.
Babafemi explained that Kyari’s refusal to cooperate with the Agency led to him being declared wanted.
Kyari, until his suspension by the commission, was the officer-in-charge of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team.
A report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States of America had earlier indicted him in the case of fraud involving Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi.
