Bayern Munich Striker, Thomas Muller has returned from his World Cup holidays and is keen to start work under Niko Kovac.
Muller who had an unforgettable outing at the 2018 FIFA world cup in Russia where he failed to find the back of the net is ready to put the world cup disappointment behind him and get back to work with Nico Kovac, who guided Eintracht Frankfurt to a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich to win the DFB Pokal Trophy.
Bayern Munich struggled under Carlo Ancelotti at the beginning of last season, the Italian was fired to be replaced by Jupp Heynckes who steadied the ship and left at the end of the season.
Bayern Munich appointed Niko Kovac at the end of last season to replace Heynckes, Muller is delighted with his arrival.
“Generally speaking, Niko Kovac and his brother (assistant Robert) are both former players so we should find a level we can operate on,” Müller said. “We all want Bayern to be successful, that’s clear and that’s why I’m confident we can find a positive path forward together.”
“For those of us who weren’t on the US Tour, the next week is going to be an opportunity for us to familiarise ourselves with the new coach,” Müller said.
“We will certainly exchange opinions and discuss certain things. We’ll see what the coach expects of the team and how he wants us to play; now is the time to find out.
Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt will slug it out in the Super Cup on August 12, 2018.
