Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has stated that Jose Mourinho deliberately got himself sacked as manager of the club.
Mourinho was sacked last year and walked away with £15million pounds in compensation.
Scholes who was an open critic of the Portuguese had the below to day about the sacking.
“I felt he (Mourinho) didn’t want to be there.
“He engineered his move away perfectly in the end.
“His press conferences were embarrassing, so negative, it was obvious in the end the players didn’t want to play for him. The right thing happened in the end.”
According to Scholes, part of Mourinho’s plan was falling out with club captain Antonio Valencia whom is described as a nice man.
“He fell out with Antonio Valencia who is the nicest man in the world. It’s impossible to fall out with Antonio Valencia.
“That was a big sign for me that something wasn’t quite right,” he added.
Mourinho has since been replaced with a caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
