Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata has decided to exit Stamford Bridge with a move to La Liga side, Sevilla. This was stated on Tuesday by Sevilla director of football, Joaquin Caparros.
According to Caparros, the Spain international is eager to join Sevilla this January transfer window, but reaching a deal with Chelsea is said to be causing problems.
“We are interested in Morata, but it is a very complicated operation due to his cost,” Caparros told Sevilla’s official television channel.
“The player [Morata] wants to come here over other options, but the negotiation with Chelsea will be very complicated.”
26-year old Morata has struggled since joining Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer. He was dropped by Blues manager Maurizio Sarri in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday in a first-leg semi-final Carabao Cup encounter.
