Ministerial screening: My father is not proud of my disrespectful tweet- Tijani

Bosun Tijani

Amid heavy criticisms from members of the Nigerian Senate, the Ministerial nominee, Bosun Tijanni, bowed to pressure and apologized for his unpatriotic comment against the lawmakers in 2021.

Tijani tendered his apology during his screening session at the Senate on Saturday.

Kemi Filani News recalls that in 2021, the Tijani tweeted describing Nigerian lawmakers as ‘morons.’

But, according to him, his remarks are borne out of a passion to see how things work in Nigeria.

He said: “Distinguished senators, I was raised properly as a Yoruba boy in Agege and Abeokuta. I understand that we are not meant to disrespect our elders, which is not the training we were given. My father won’t be proud of me for all these allegations.

“…So I want to profusely apologize to everyone in this hall, including anyone in Nigeria who may have been offended by everything I said”.

Recall that President Tinubu, on two different occasions, sent 48 member list to the Senate for confirmation.
