Mikel Obi and teammates escape plane crash

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has escaped a plane crash after the Middlesbrough plane he was meant to fly from Newport County with his team members was grounded due to engine failure.

A report by Footballlive states that Mikel and his Middlesbrough teammates were about to leave the Rodney Parade Arena after a 2-0 loss to their opponents but their flight had to be postponed by officials of the club.

This comes just days after the wreckage of the plane carrying Cardiff City player, Emiliano Sala was discovered with the player’s body in it.

The football world is still mourning Sala’s loss.
