Nigeria Professional Football League record highest goal scorer, Mfon Udoh has expressed his excitement after being called up to the Super Eagles team to face Liberia in an International friendly match in Monrovia on Tuesday.
Mfon Udoh scored a record 23 goals in the NPFL in the 2013/2014 season a record that is yet to be surpassed.
“I feel happy for this unexpected call-up because every player wishes to play in the highest level and representing your country is something wonderful especially in the Super Eagles,” the Enyimba skipper told Footballlive.ng.
“I’m looking forward to taking this opportunity to prove myself even if it’s the last minute of the game I will try my best to prove myself, I feel relax and also happy.”
Mfon Udoh and four other home-based players have been called up for the match against Liberia
It is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the 35,000-capacity Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
